Do tattoos hurt?
Getting a tattoo is not as painful as most people imagine. Whilst it’s not the most enjoyable feeling in the world, it’s definitely worth it in the end. You know the saying, no pain, no gain…
Do you use new needles?
Yes, of course we use new needles.
All of our other tattooing and piercing equipment such as the tattoo tubes and all piercing instruments are all autoclave sterilized before use.
All of our Tattoo Artists have been trained in proper sterilization procedures and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
All of our Tattoo Artist are required to wear disposable gloves whilst carrying out tattoo or body piercing procedures.
All Work Surfaces are thoroughly cleaned after the completion of each tattoo session.
If you have any questions or concerns prior to getting your tattoo, please feel free to ask your tattoo artist. Remember, there is no such thing as a stupid question.
How long do tattoos take to heal?
If you follow through with all the proper aftercare instructions, tattoos will usually take about two weeks to heal.
How do you care for a fresh tattoo?
We recommend that a new tattoo be bandaged for two hours. After that time, remove the bandage and wash the tattooed area with warm water and mild soap. Use your hands and avoid any wash cloths or brushes. After washing your tattoo, pat dry the area and apply the recommended cream (we recommend Tattoo Goo which can be found at many tattoo shops and Bepanthem, which can be found at your local chemist or supermarket). Apply a very thin coat of the cream, a few times a day for two weeks. Please, DO NOT scratch or pick at the tattoo.
Please DO NOT swim, soak in the bath or suntan for at least 2 to 3 weeks.
After the tattoo is fully healed, you should use sun block any time your tattoo is exposed to the sun or tanning beds. Tattoo after care is as important as choosing your tattoo. So, to ensure that your tattoo remains just as you’d like, make sure that you follow the after care instructions carefully.
Why does my tattoo look like it is pealing off?
Tattoos will usually peel like a sunburn within a few days to a week. There will be colour in the skin that peels away but this is totally normal, so don’t worry. If however, you are worried about something, feel free to come back into the tattoo studio and speak with your tattoo artist or contact us via the phone.
Do we need an appointment?
Appointments are not always necessary and at Deuce Tattoo we welcome walk ins, however, please don’t be disappointed if our tattoo artists are already busy with a client. So, during the weekends and summer months, our tattoo artists are often booked weeks in advance, so plan accordingly to avoid disappointment.
Can we bring in our own design?
Yes, of course. You can bring in any type of design you like, such as a photo, your own drawing, something from a magazine, t-shirt, off the internet, etc. We can also custom design something for you based on your material or we can work with you to change and modify your design to suit you. If we are to design a custom tattoo for you we will require the deposit before starting any artwork. If, after your tattoo is drawn, you choose not to have it tattooed, your deposit will be used as an art charge to cover the artists research and drawing time. Please remember, our tattoo artists are the professionals and have been doing this for years. So, body placement and size issues will be discussed with you by the tattoo artist.
Can I smoke while I get my tattoo?
No, smoking is not permitted in the tattoo studio.
Can I bring my children into the shop?
Children should play in a play ground and not in a Tattoo Studio. So, if someone owes you a favour, might be best to ask them to baby sit your children for a few hours If however you have no choice but to bring your child, make sure that there’s a responsible adult with them…Remember, you want your tattoo artist concentrating on you.
Can I bring my pet into the studio?
No, pets are not permitted in tattoo studio.
What forms of payment do you take?
We accept Cash, Visa, Master Card. Unfortunately we do not accept cheques of any kind.
How much do tattoos cost?
It all depends. The cost of a tattoo is determined by size, detail, colour, placement on the body, and the work and time involved in doing the tattoo. Please DO NOT call us to ask for a quote, as we cannot give one without seeing the actual design in person.
At Deuce Tattoo, we do the highest quality tattoos at very reasonable prices. Please do not attempt to ask for a markdown in price, as refusal may offend.
Can you cover up old tattoos?
Unfortunately, there are some tattoo artists in the industry who just aren’t qualified, so, often, here at Deuce Tattoo we get clients wanting to cover up unwanted tattoos with new ones. We will endeavour to cover up or re create a new tattoo design over your existing tattoo, but please keep in mind, that you are very limited in what will actually cover existing tattoos as you cannot put lighter colours over darker colours without the old design showing through. Often, the new tattoo will need to be a bit larger than the old one and usually darker in colour, in order to cover the unwanted tattoo.
Or you may choose to revamp the old design. We can rework your old tattoos and make them look like new and in most cases better than the day you got it the first time.
If you have a tattoo that you would like covered or reworked please stop in for a consultation and we would be happy to assist you.
Can I drink before my tattoo to ease the pain?
We DO NOT recommend drinking before getting tattooed. Alcohol thins out your blood which may result in more than usual bleeding. Persons who have been drinking, tend move around a lot more and at times, make poor decisions, and here at Deuce, we want you to walk out happy with your decision and not have any regrets.
If our tattoo artists detect that you are noticeably affected by alcohol, we refuse the right to tattoo you.
Do you do touch ups and what do they cost?
If you followed your after care instructions, you probably won’t need a touch up. If however you feel that you aren’t satisfied by the quality of the tattoo, you will be entitled to a free touch up within 4 weeks of getting the tattoo. After the 4 week time frame, you will be charged based upon the work involved. |
